Château Auzines - Les Garrigues
Château Auzines is on top of the hill. 398 metres up. It’s where we go when the heatwaves of Summer arrive. The reason is because there’s a wind that blows through at this height that stops us from self-combusting. It’s the same place the grapes that are found in this wine grow. They also like the height and the cool fresh wind. There isn’t a whole lot of these grapes but then there isn’t a whole lot of this wine. And that’s what makes it special.
Its colour is hard to describe. A mix of beautiful dark red with purple undertones. The notes are easier to describe, you’ll uncover cherry, thyme and sage. That’s what happens when you blend together the Syrah and Grenache from Château Auzines. Fresh with an elegant finish. And you will finish it.
You can age this one for up to 5 or 6 years. Open it in Summer, with a barbeque or when you’re grilling. And pop it in the fridge for a bit beforehand if you like. We do.
