Le Côte 136 – Pech Cezarine
Certain plots have certain areas that happen to produce certain grapes. These grapes we have found over the years lead to the most delicious wines. We mark these areas, and give them a name. In this case 136 is the average altitude of the particular plot this particular wine comes from. The grapes for this cuvée are harvested at dawn, then we use short vinification at a moderate temperature, along with soft extractions. A small amount is aged in new French barrels utilising the wood and all it can add. In the glass it reveals the whole story and it’s a story worth telling.
It’s intense as you will probably guess from the deep red colour. You’ll find blackcurrant, spices and wild herbs. Silky tannins and balanced concentration lead to a long finish. If you like your wine big, you’ve found it.
Of course it goes with red meats. Have it with a rib of beef to bring out the best side of both. It also finds interesting cheeses interesting.
Suitable for vegans.
