Wine Paris 2026 - Recap

We are back in the Languedoc after a successful, busy and exciting Wine Paris fair. The salon has firmly established itself as one of the most important global meeting points for the wine trade, bringing together producers, buyers, distributors, and decision-makers from every key market in one place.

For the team at Laurent Miquel, Wine Paris is the first important event of the year, allowing us to meet with our customers from around the world, strengthen existing commercial relationships, and share our vision, values, and new ideas. Being present with a strong team ensures we stay close to market trends in wine from around the globe, to help us maintain our strong partnerships with key clients. Buyers, whether long-standing partners of Laurent Miquel or curious new visitors who had heard about us, were looking for wines that combine originality, provenance, and a relevance to current market trends.

Our Lagrasse Albarino from our organically managed, high-altitude Corbières vineyards once again proved a standout, whether buyers were tasting the latest vintage or discovering it for the first time after hearing about it elsewhere at the fair. There is also a growing interest in alternative bottle formats, and visitors were enthusiastic about magnums in particular, with Château Cazal Viel Vieilles Vignes (from old-vine Grenache, Syrah & Mourvèdre), Lagrasse Albarino, and Solas Rosé creating real impact on the stand. At the same time, our 50cl formats of key wines resonated strongly, reflecting the global shift towards moderation and more flexible drinking occasions.

Buyers were also keen to explore what’s new: the launch of 100% varietal Cinsault and Grenache Noir generated particularly enthusiastic feedback, with Cinsault attracting attention as a grape increasingly valued for its high natural acidity and slower ripening – a significant mitigating factor in warmer growing conditions. Our new Languedoc whites were met with equal acclaim, including a Languedoc Blanc blending Grenache, Rolle, Clairette and Roussanne  - showing zesty and lively character - and 100% Grenache Blanc, appreciated for its generous, gourmand character and excellent food-pairing potential.

Clients were keen to know more about vintage 2025 at Laurent Miquel and the Languedoc generally, Following months of unusual weather patterns, including heatwaves in June and early July, and significant wildfires that caused widespread destruction, harvesting began earlier than initially predicted. We were fortunate to have a few weeks of even and steady ripening through July into August which saved the vintage. 2025 was a strong and classic year for our red and rosé wines, with Cinsault and Syrah particularly showing excellent quality. For whites, Viognier yields were negatively impacted but otherwise whites performed well, thanks to high-altitude planting, which created cooler conditions, and night-time harvesting.

In summary, conversations with buyers at Wine Paris this year really underscored the pressures the trade continues to navigate — from tighter margins and changing consumption habits to the very real effects of climate variability on supply and vintage quality.  What shone through with our trade visitors was not only their interest in quality fruit but also the importance of reconnecting with consumers directly — through experiences that go beyond the bottle. For Laurent Miquel, that means prioritising market visits with consumer tastings, masterclasses, cellar dinners, and other on-the-ground events that bring wine lovers closer to our story, our vineyards, and our people. We love these moments of connection, sharing the passion behind each bottle and thanking drinkers for choosing our family wines year after year.

Wine Paris 2026 once again reminded us why events like this matter so much — not just as a meeting point for the global wine trade, but as a place to listen, learn, and reconnect with the people who shape our industry and enjoy our wines. The conversations, feedback, and enthusiasm we shared over the week will directly inform how we work with our partners and engage with consumers in the year ahead. We leave Paris energised, grateful for the time spent with friends old and new, and proud to represent our family, our vineyards, and the Languedoc on an international stage. Thank you to everyone who visited the stand, tasted the wines, and shared their thoughts — we look forward to continuing the conversation.

We'll see you there next year!
