Preparing for the festive season!

Winter is settling into the Languedoc - life in the vineyard enters a quieter, more reflective rhythm, but that doesn’t mean things slow down. With the vines now lying dormant, this is the moment when the team turns its attention to essential winter work. It’s a peaceful time of year in the vineyard — crisp air, still mornings, and views over the bare rows of vines. Everything we do now sets the foundation for the growth to come in spring.

Preparing for the Festive Season

Outside the vineyard, life becomes a whirl of preparations. Like many families, we’re getting ready for the festive season, and the children are already debating the details of their Christmas lists. Weekends at the local markets are full of life: the aromas of street food, freshly baked bread, and winter spices mingle with the bustle of holiday shoppers. It’s a moment for connection,

Festive moments often arrive unexpectedly — friends dropping by, neighbours sharing an evening drink, casual dinners that become long conversations. Choosing the right wines for these occasions can make all the difference.

Solas Pinot Noir is one of our favourite winter reds for informal evenings. Smooth, full-flavoured, but never heavy or drying, it’s a wonderfully versatile wine for gatherings. It pairs so well with mixed platters of charcuterie and cheese, making it perfect for unexpected hosting. Solas Pinot Noir with its flavours of wild strawberries and black tea, and that distinctive herbal finish, is an elegant choice when you want something special but effortless.

For white-wine lovers, Côte 128 Viognier is a richer, more generous style — ideal for the colder months. With luscious white-fruit flavours and a delicate touch of spice, it brings warmth and depth to holiday meals and cosy evenings alike. It’s a white wine with real presence: comforting, aromatic - something to linger over.

For a special treat, choose Bardou, our single vineyard plot of old vine Syrah and Grenache - it's rich, ripe berry flavours and pepper spice make it a great pairing for the many flavours of the Christmas dinner, or pair with the cheese course by the fire for a cosy end to the big day.

Whether you’re hosting friends, celebrating with family, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, Christmas is a time to savour moments big and small. From the work in the vineyard to the wines we share at our tables, winter is full of simple pleasures with family and friends.

I started Geometry Dash just for fun, and somehow ended up playing it for hours. The music pulls you in, and the obstacles hit right on the beat, making every run feel exciting. It’s challenging, sometimes frustrating, but I keep coming back because it rewards every bit of effort.
