Made from a single south facing parcel on the estate named Saga Pegot. The schist (slate) soil type and warm climate produce a very intense, mineral wine that expresses spice and leather flavours typical of the Faugères terroir, near the Cevennes mountains.
This cuvée is a pure expression of the Viognier grape
Calcareous, average yield: 40hl/ha
Single parcel selection
Night-time harvesting, pressing with juice selection, must clarification at low temperatures, fermentation at 16-17°C, maturation in French oak barrels (70%) and light filtration before bottling.
This cuvée is a pure expression of the Viognier grape with aromas of white peaches, apricot and honeysuckle flowers. The palate is generous yet well balanced with well integrated oak that does not mask any of the pure Viognier character but rather adds to the structure. Vérité has a lingering opulent finish with a hint of nuttiness.
A discovery for Viognier lovers, this wine pairs well with fine French cuisine – grilled fish (such as turbot or sea bass) , lobster, crayfish salads or even chicken or guinea fowl in a cream sauce. Also try with ripe soft cheese such as Camembert.
Serve at 10° to 12°C.
